In the contemporary Rhythm & Blues scene, Yohany emerges as one of the new promising singers, promoting her songs throughout the U.S., celebrating the release of "All That I Want" with parties and shows at Minneapolis' The Lounge and Miami Beach's Rumi. Cuban descendant Yohany Rodriguez started getting involved in music while listening to her favorite singers Madonna and Whitney Houston, later admiring divas such as Barbra Streisand and Celine Dion. In the summer of 2002 Yohany had the chance to make her fist record, a Latin Pop single called "Descontrolate", released by independent Durmar and nominated in 2003 to the Billboard Latin Music Awards , as Best Dance Maxi Single. In 2004 Covert Records signed her up, making her debut album, produced by Ben Obi, Jeff Durand, Tommy Barbarella, Seanacy Amos, Keith Porter and David Casburne (a.k.a. D. Mack). The 10-song record features the catchy "At The Bar", with contributions by Chase Manhatt'n, the sensual "You Can't Have My Number" including Jennifer Amour's voice and of course "Lose Control/Descontrolate". After working with Enrique Iglesias, MDO, Luis Fonsi, Pilar Montenegro, Yohany, a young and talented singer/songwriter, strive to deserve her own place in the pop music scene. |
