Ana Cristina.
In January, 2005, Ana Cristina became the
first Hispanic singer performing The Star
Spangled Banner at The Constitutional Ball,
as part of The Presidential Inauguration,
before authorities and special guests. A
major achievement in the beginning of a
promising career. Cuban-American Ana
Cristina Alvarez was born on June 2nd,
1985 in Miami, FL. She started singing at
the age of five. Throughout the years she
was able to refine an impressive six-octave
vocal range, turning into a
multi-instrumentalist and composer,
signing up to Sony Music International at
the age of 15 and joining a group of
well-known producers to work on her debut
album, comprising different music styles,
including dance/pop, urban and
contemporary pop/rock. It was released on
August, 2003 along with an EP including the
songs "Vivan Los Niños" and "A Un Paso
De Mi Amor". The self-titled album also
featured the hit single "Tan Solo Son
Palabras". Ana Cristina sings in both
English and Spanish. She has joined a
music scene in a need of talented
newcomers, therefore her dream of
becoming a crossover sensation could see
the light very soon.
